Baby Stripes

This cute little quilt belongs to the Empress Charlotte.

This is one of my first improv quilts.  I cut the fabrics into strips and played around on the design wall until I found a design I liked.  I was in a hurry so the machine quilting (with walking foot) was simple.

It was made in 2014 but I haven't had time to photograph it until now.  It has held up well to washing I think!

The Empress has almost outgrown her toddler bed so it's time to replace it with a twin.  If I listen to her input the new quilt will feature Star Wars, football and Batman :).

  2. I'm laughing here, but the Star Wars fabric is on sale right now since the movie premiered! Perhaps sneak it in there for her?

I love the soft hand that your SLQ with a walking foot gave it. It reminds me of vintage quilts where they used flannel for batting, and quilted lightly. It gave it beautiful texture.

    1. Thanks Julie! My scrap heap it full of star wars fabric already! The Empress was not happy to find out I was making Star Wars quilts for her cousins and not for her.
      Thanks for stopping by!
